The Flux shorts might look quietly unassuming but despite such modest style, both in terms of appearance and price, they turned in a top performance.

The rip stop fabric is light but tough and combined with the well specified liner pad, very comfortable over a wide range of riding. The cut is excellent, with enough room for movement (helped by a rear panel), but trim enough to fit where it matters. Combined with that strategically placed stretch, it makes these shorts versatile. And at a shade under £45 for a shell with a removable liner, you’ll still love them when your bank statements come through too.
